UK Lawmakers Warn Over Heavy Reliance on Palantir in Public Services

(MENAFN) UK lawmakers warn that reliance on US tech company Palantir has become an “unacceptable point of weakness” in government digital infrastructure, according to reports.

A cross-party committee in the House of Commons says increasing dependence on a small group of major tech suppliers, including Palantir, Microsoft, and Amazon Web Services, raises risks for public services and weakens national technological sovereignty.

The report urges the government to reconsider its use of Palantir in the National Health Service’s data platform contract, recommending that it either develop an in-house system or switch to a UK-based provider when a break clause becomes available in 2027.
