Polish leader meets UK PM in London to discuss bilateral ties, Ukraine
According to reports from the UK government, both leaders highlighted the strong partnership between their countries and expressed a shared commitment to further deepen ties across multiple areas, including defense, security, trade, commerce, and education.
"The increasingly close cooperation on the defence projects was good for both the bilateral relationship and European security," Starmer said.
As part of the strengthened defense collaboration, Starmer welcomed an agreement allowing Polish helicopter pilots to begin training in the UK in the coming months, a move he described as further integrating the British and Polish armed forces.
Turning to Ukraine, both leaders emphasized the need to secure a fair and lasting peace, as the Russia-Ukraine war approaches its fourth year. Starmer also expressed gratitude to Nawrocki for Poland’s continued participation in discussions regarding security guarantees for Ukraine.
